The United States election made waves around the world and will influence US and foreign policy in a variety of ways for years to come. The rise of the right-wing parties with policies that include opposition to immigration and criticism of free-trade central to their platforms is a global phenomenon. At the Public Sphere, we wanted to understand more about the preferences of voters, strategies of parties and leaders, and electoral systems that have produced this shift. In the next days and weeks, we’ll be releasing a series of blogs concerning the US election. Each piece tries to frame the election in a policy based or global context. We would very much appreciate your comments, feedback and ideas to deepen our understanding and develop the best policy outcomes and strategy from this election. Thank you.
